- ⅔ cup of buttermilk
- 1 cup of all purpose flour
- 2 tsp of baking powder
- ¼ cup of cold chopped butter
- ½ cup of grated Asiago cheese
- ½ tbsp of Herbes de Provence
- A pinch of salt
Garlic butter ingredients:
Yield: 13 – 2oz biscuits (a baker’s dozen)
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 460°F
Step 2: In a mixer or a mixing bowl combine 1 cup of all purpose flour, 2 tsp of baking powder, ½ tbsp of Herbes de Provence, A pinch of salt, and ¼ cup of cold chopped butter. Use a paddle attachment on your mixer or if you are using a mixing bowl combine the ingredients with your hands.
Step 3: Once the ingredients are well blended add in ½ cup of grated Asiago cheese. Continue to mix the batter until all the ingredients are well blended into the mix.
Step 4: line a baking pan with a sheet of parchment paper. Using a 2oz scoop evenly space and portion the batter onto the baking pan.
Step 5: Place the baking pan into the fully preheated oven and bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the biscuits are fully cooked.
Step 6: While the biscuits are baking combine 1.5 tbsp of butter and ¼ tbsp of garlic into a microwavable safe bowl. Microwave the butter for 1 minute or until the butter is fully melted.
Step 7: After the biscuits have baked, leave the oven on and remove the pan from the oven. Using the garlic butter and a pastry brush coat each biscuit with the melted garlic butter and put them back in the oven for another 1 to 2 minutes. Note: If you don’t own a pastry brush you can use a small spoon to apply the butter.
Step 8: Remove the biscuits from the oven and serve.
